BURROWS

A clean and contemporary landscape design for our client in Burrows, Huntington Beach, California. An outdoor living space designed for family gatherings on occasions or just an afternoon lounging. 

The front yard is simple with noticeable details. The key details are porcelain step-pads and planting areas that lead to the porch. The decorative boulders are placed in the front and side planting areas to give depth and variety. The planting consists of mixed Japanese Boxwood, heavenly bamboo, Japanese painted fern, Japanese forest grass, and foxtail agave. A palo verde tree is placed at the driveway and side-yard entrance areas to match the neighbor trees, keeping aesthetics constant.

In the backyard design, the family has different areas in mind where they could have socialization. We design an outdoor bar area and sunken patio maximizing the backyard design. An aluminum pergola is placed to provide weather protection so the family can enjoy the bar and bbq area any time of the day. The sunken patio is the unique feature of this design. It is placed in front of the California room which gives the family a view of the fountain wall and greeneries. A viro wicker day bed was placed on the sunken patio for lounging, a great area for catching the warmth of the sun during early morning or late afternoon.
